• Onboarding preferences (your learning goals and current level)

Study Data

• Flashcard study progress (card states, review history, due dates, performance scores)
• Lesson completion status

Conversation Data

• Text messages you send during AI tutor chat sessions
• Voice recordings you make during speaking practice sessions (processed in real-time and not permanently stored as audio files)
• AI-generated responses in your conversations

Device Information

• Device type and operating system version
• App version

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the App's core features (flashcard study, AI conversations, progress tracking)
• Personalize your learning experience based on your level and goals
• Process your voice input into text for speaking practice
• Generate AI responses for tutoring and conversation practice
• Generate text-to-speech audio for AI responses
• Improve the App and fix bugs

3. Third-Party Services

To provide AI-powered features, we send certain data to the following third-party services:

• OpenAI — Your chat messages and conversation context are sent to OpenAI's API to generate AI tutor and conversation responses. See OpenAI's privacy policy at openai.com/privacy.
• Deepgram — Your voice recordings during speaking practice are sent to Deepgram's API for speech-to-text transcription. See Deepgram's privacy policy at deepgram.com/privacy.
• ElevenLabs — AI response text is sent to ElevenLabs' API to generate spoken audio. See ElevenLabs' privacy policy at elevenlabs.io/privacy.
• Supabase — Your account data, study progress, and conversation history are stored securely using Supabase's cloud database. See Supabase's privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy.

We do not sell your personal information to any third party. Data shared with these services is used solely to provide the App's features.

4. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete all of your personal data, including study progress, conversation history, and account information, within 30 days.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication, and access controls on our database. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights and Account Deletion

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Withdraw consent for data processing (by discontinuing use of the App)

To delete your account, go to Profile in the App and tap "Delete Account." This will permanently delete your account and all associated data, including your study progress, conversation history, review history, and onboarding preferences. Deletion is processed within 30 days and cannot be undone.

7. Children's Privacy

Embed is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@tryembed.app and we will promptly delete that information.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated policy within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
